Recycled Laptops and Devices

Asylum Welcome staff holding donated laptops. More laptops can be seen on the table.

25 laptops generously donated by Revivn and Adobe (autumn 2022).

Our recycled laptop project enables our younger clients and adult clients to continue their education and pursue employment, remain connected with friends and families, and access online information, support and resources. It also helps to counter loneliness and isolation.

We always need more laptops for our clients, as well as desktops, tablets and phones.

The most useful devices are laptops up to 10 years old, in good condition, with a webcam, in full working order, and accompanied by chargers. The repair shops that we work with can wipe the computers securely to ensure your privacy; however, they cannot repair computers that have serious problems.

We strongly recommend that you make sure to clear any devices of material that you would like to keep before donating.

If you would like to donate a laptop or device, please write to Ben, our Recycled Laptop Project Coordinator, at laptops@asylum-welcome.org or call us on 01865 722082 Laptops can be dropped off at Asylum Welcome (7 Newtec Place, Magdalen Road, Oxford OX4 1RE) from Monday to Friday, between 10am-4pm.

If people are further afield in the county, they are welcome to donate to SOFEA in Didcot or Bicester Green in Bicester, who work together with us supplying laptops for our programme. Click here for more information.
