Day 13
Hannah’s story…
Today (13th December) is the annual Thank You Party for Asylum Welcome’s brilliant volunteers.
Listen to our Volunteer Coordinator talk about their incredible contribution here…
Hannah joined Asylum Welcome in July 2020, after completing an MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies at SOAS University. Alongside her studies, she started working for another charity called Wycombe Refugee Partnership, where her role also involved supporting and coordinating volunteers.
Previously, after graduating from the University of St Andrews (MA Social Anthropology and Comparative Literature), Hannah worked teaching English as a foreign language in Argentina, Uruguay and Spain. Since, she has used this skill as a volunteer, teaching refugees in the UK and abroad.
Committed to empowering people who seek asylum, and enthusiastic about working with volunteers, Hannah is delighted to be part of the team at Asylum Welcome!
To be continued…
Asylum Welcome could not provide the services it does without the dedication of our 220+ volunteers, 15% of whom have lived experience of being a refugee. 🧡
🙋🙋♂️ We are holding a volunteer information evening on Tuesday 10th January, which will be an opportunity for potential volunteers to find out more about our work and the multiple ways to get involved.
