The Welcome Centre is found at the heart of Asylum Welcome, aiming to make people to feel welcome, safe and listened to. The Welcome Centre is usually the first point of contact for asylum seekers, refugees or vulnerable migrants who are new as well as already established clients. This contact is either established by calling or coming into the office. The Welcome Centre also fields general enquiries, referrals from other organisations, outreach and media requests.
The Welcome Centre / Reception Coordinator will oversee an area for greeting clients, volunteers, staff and external visitors. They will offer communication and administrative support to the organisation, ensuring that inquiries are dealt with competently and services are able to run smoothly. Additionally, they will support and assist the coordination of donated items, such as food, bikes, laptops, clothing and household items. This is a part-time role (21 hours per week).
