Asylum Welcome is recruiting for a new Sanctuary Hosting Service Coordinator to join the team.

Could this be the job for you?

Main purpose: The Service Coordinator has lead responsibility for assessing and responding to referrals of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants facing homelessness. The postholder coordinates, facilitates and supports hosting placements, ensuring that guests have hosted accommodation to move on to until they leave the scheme. The Service Coordinator is also responsible for supervising Sanctuary Hosting’s volunteers, including our hosts, and our host and guest “buddies”.

Sanctuary Hosting matches homeless asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants (guests) with people who have a spare room or a sofa bed (hosts) that they offer freely for a finite period. Since it started in 2015, the scheme has provided over 30,000 nights of accommodation to people who would otherwise have been made homeless. Sanctuary Hosting merged with AW at the end of 2022. The service operates across Oxfordshire and facilitates a small number of placements in Reading.

You can see the full role description and details here.

The role is part-time (2.5 days per week). The post holder will need to have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel within Oxfordshire and Reading.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter by 5 pm on Monday 18 September 2023. To submit your application or if you would like an informal chat about the post, please email: tania@asylum-welcome.org.
