Asylum Welcome provides free, confidential information, help and guidance for refugees, asylum seekers and immigration detainees in Oxford and Oxfordshire. We are an independent charity and we are not a government agency.
This website provides useful information and contact details. You are welcome to contact us or visit our office during opening hours if you need advice and support.
Information and advice
Our friendly, trained volunteers provide information and advice about the social, legal and health services provided by the various government bodies and other agencies.
Services for detainees
We offer a range of services, including regular volunteer visits for detainees at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre.
Services for destitute people
We offer advice and other services for destitute asylum seekers and refugees.
Services for young people
We provide information and advice services, and organise activities for young asylum seekers and refugees.
Education advice
We offer an education advice service, including help with finding academic and vocational classes. We also provide one-to-one English-language lessons.
Advocacy Programme
We promote the interests and rights of asylum seekers, refugees and immigration detainees in the Oxfordshire area.
Speaker Programme
We provide Speakers to talk to Oxfordshire schools, organisations groups about refugee and asylum issues.
Media work
We raise awareness and increase understanding of the issues faced by asylum seekers, refugees and immigration detainees in Oxfordshire. We work with the media to support accurate reporting and dispel myths, stereotypes and misinformation.
Campaigns
We support campaigns that call for improved conditions for asylum seekers, refugees and immigration detainees in Oxfordshire, throughout the UK and internationally.
